We had a productive Drama rehearsal this afternoon.  We have choreographed the first three musical numbers of the show!  For the next few rehearsals, I will not need every actor or stage crew member.  Within the next week, I will send you a revised rehearsal schedule.

At home, I would appreciate it if you could please encourage your child to practice singing and dancing the numbers we have worked on so far.  You can access the music using the YouTube links at the end of this message, or if you wish to have a CD, please let Mrs. Hernandez or myself know and we can get you copy.

Some students have already begun to question me about costumes.  I would like to begin accumulating pieces mid-to-late January; so, if your child has any ideas for his/her costumes, please encourage him/her to share them with me.  We will be discussing costumes at upcoming rehearsals, but I love that many students are already considering prospects now!

I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of our attendance policy.  If your child is unable to attend rehearsal on the day he/she  is scheduled to attend, please notify Mrs. Hernandez or me the day before.  This includes middle school students who wish to attend Drama late so that they may work with a teacher.  I understand that we all have busy schedules and that it may be unavoidable to miss rehearsal; I simply ask that you alert me of any absences ahead of time so that I may plan accordingly.  Especially with the winter months upon us and the possibilities of delays and cancelations looming, it is imperative that we make the most of the time we have.

Additionally, unless you need to pick your child up from Drama early, we kindly ask that you please wait outside or in your vehicle until we bring the students outside.  We strive to end every rehearsal promptly at 4pm.  At the end of rehearsal, we often give important announcements and we do not want to have to keep stopping to answer the door.

Lastly, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas and a joyous new year.  I hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable holiday vacation.

Thank you,

Ms. Lynch
